Boasting a breathtaking bounty of brands – from Gucci and Missoni down to Red Engine and Michael Stars – this consignment boutique is a bargain hunter’s heaven.  Most items are at least 60 percent off retail, sometimes more, and all are in good condition for pre-owned garments.  Buyers purchase from both coasts, so don’t be surprised if Fashion Avenue scoops the department stores on hot trends.  

The store itself is rather drab and TJ Maxx-like: racks are crowded and organized only loosely by item and size.  A cluster of racks overflowing with handbags greets you upon entry, with shoes just behind, and clothing encompassing the other half of the store.  But the excitement of this shop isn’t décor, it’s designer duds at affordable prices.

With new merch constantly flowing in, it’s hard to describe what to expect.  The shoe selection tends toward Nine West and Stuart Weitzman – quality-sans-status brands – though you might find a Choo in there on occasion.  The women’s clothing selection is heavy on the tops, though a decent selection of skirts and pants is always available.  As for brands, I’ve seen a Trina Turk silk halter dress for $106, a Tod’s tote for $450, and a Chloé jean miniskirt for $75. Those will all be gone when you hit the racks, but rest assured that you’ll find your own gems if you visit this wonderland of beloved brands.
