The Edina outpost of this St. Paul-bred boutique nestles in a long, narrow space, lit by an ornate crystal chandelier. Pink walls and wood floors add to the atmosphere of welcoming warmth, and wall-racks of gorgeous garments in every imaginable shade beckon quietly from both sides of the shop. Swank tees peek out from shelves of antique armoires and covetable handbags sit patiently on tables and atop racks. It won’t take you long to unearth a breathtakingly gorgeous dress or twelve, amassing dressing room fodder as you case the store from front to back.

Aside from a few artfully draped jersey knits from Nougat London, some status denim, and a pair or two of classically cut slacks, Stephanie’s doesn’t do basics. Classics aren’t a priority either: If you’re looking for a white button-down or black pencil skirt, head next door to Ann Taylor Loft. But if your selection of frocks is sadly wanting, you’ll find ornately embellished day and evening dresses from Catherine Malandrino, Susana Monaco, and Tracy Reese that will set your heart a-flutter. Lacy cardigans, funky paperbag-waist skirts, and statement-y belts and accessories abound as well, topping off a collection that can only be described as bold and beautiful.
