Picky Girl’s name refers both to its discriminating customer and to its carefully selected inventory. The long, rectangular space is furnished sparsely to allow the merchandise to take center stage, and its pale wood floors and matte gray walls allow for a serene browsing experience. 

On entering you’ll see a table, usually stocked with a few folded tees and a selection of shoes from Pink brand, J Shoes, and 80%20. Both walls are lined with low-slung racks bearing slinky Kensie Girl frocks and a variety of jersey knit tops. Shelves above the racks showcase handbags in unusual shapes, colors, and materials, all under $200. You'll quickly find yourself rifling through a carefully curated group of silky printed blouses, vests, skirts and slightly edgy office wear ... and dress after gorgeous dress. Ruffles, sequins, lace, pailettes and other eye-catching embellishments beckon from the dress offerings, but slinky sweater dresses and simple silhouettes are available in abundance as well. In the winter months, you’ll also find a variety of jackets and coats, from pocket-encrusted tomboyish cropped numbers to brightly colored wool lady coats from Resound.

Mixed in with the dressier pieces are upscale casual offerings, from sculptural Wrath Arcane sweats to Skunkfunk knit tops and Gentle Fawn sweater dresses. Commonplace materials are made alluring through clever design, timelessly neutral colors, and flattering cuts. These are no ordinary weekend togs, these are artful loungewear offerings.

Picky Girl offers a small selection of affordable accessories in addition to handbags and shoes, with a few belts peeking out from the center displays and several racks of delicate, feminine necklaces on the checkout counter. The shop occasionally offers on-trend items like Goorin Brothers fedoras and lightweight cotton scarves as well.
