Shop here for: Designer duds at prices that won’t give you a coronary
Blink and you’ll miss GH2’s unassuming little storefront on Hennepin Avenue, but don’t be fooled by that understated window display. This treasure trove of designer duds at non-designer prices is well worth perusing. Although it began as an outlet for parent store Grethen House’s last-season castoffs, GH2 now culls closeouts from several other shops in the area and also takes in gently used designer clothing and shoes for consignment.
The narrow shop is typically overflowing with pieces both classic and of-the-moment. Any given visit may tempt you with gauzy knits from Rick Owens, structured YSL jackets, impeccably designed Miu Miu handbags, and all manner of colorful lunacy from Jean Paul Gaultier. Be sure to haul your finds back to the cramped, curtained dressing rooms for a quick try-on, though: ALL sales are final.
Prices are low compared to retail, but some still hit the multi-thousand mark. However, seasonal sales reach 90% off, so get on their mailing list for deals that will make the stingiest penny-pincher splurge like mad.
