Description

Key North’s new, larger space is absolutely radiant with color. The shop’s concrete floor is adorned with a glossy orange circle near the entryway, and the rear walls are painted a vibrant lime green. Track lighting illuminates a multihued collection of clothing and accessories that is both fashionable and responsible; All stocked products are sustainable and promote both fair trade and responsible manufacturing, and many lines are crafted from organic or recycled materials. Talk about a guilt-free shopping experience …

Wall-hung grids and blonde wood shelves on the right wall display luxe leather handbags from Latico alongside ornate, chunky belts, while nesting tables in the shop’s center showcase bright, stacked tees. Head left and toward the back and you’ll find yourself exploring rack upon rack of wildly printed silk blouses, asymmetric-hem dresses, architectural knits, and artfully layered skirts. Neutrals peek out here and there, but bright colors abound. Barbara Lesser tops and skirts with thoughtful and unusual details hang alongside funky cardigans from Textures and Indigenous. Basics are certainly available, but most of Key North’s wares are unusual and attention-grabbing.

Although there is some structure to be found - in denim and blazer format, mainly - most garments are designed for comfort and feature elasticized waistbands and unconfined construction. This shop will appeal primarily to women over 50 hoping to keep their style relevant and fresh. But there are definitely items that will appeal to shoppers of all ages, especially those looking for artfully designed accent pieces to spice up their daily wear.
